What do I keep in my doula bag?
Unzip my bag and you will find anything from massage tools and coconut oil, to positive affirmation cards and Chapstick, to my tens unit and rebozo! And that is only the beginning :) What I use varies greatly from birth to birth, mom to mom, and scenario to scenario. It’s contents change often, and it is the perfect outlet for creativity. Instead of giving each item one specific purpose, I like to tailor it to fit your needs! Enjoy your sneak peak!
-
A Rebozo is a long woven cloth that originated in Mexico, and today is used by many doulas to support labor and physiologic birth.
-
TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and helps relieve pain by means of gentle electrical pulses.

While Providence Doula Services does not provide access to these balls, many birth centers and hospitals do! A birth ball is very similar to a regular exercise ball, while a peanut ball has a distinct, well, peanut shape! A birth ball helps mothers stay upright and active while a peanut ball helps with positioning. (It is also a great option for mammas who choose to get an epidural but also want to help their baby optimally navigate their pelvis through movement and position changes!)
I had so much fun doing this mini photo shoot!
